Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 5, 2026
Veil Cam ("the app", "we") is built around a single idea: your recordings are yours alone. This policy explains, plainly, what the app does and does not do with your information. The short version — we don't collect anything.
Veil Cam has no accounts, no servers, and no analytics. Everything you capture stays in the app's private storage on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party.
Information we collect
None. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. The app does not ask you to create an account, does not include advertising or analytics SDKs, and does not send your data anywhere.
Your recordings and media
- Video, photos, and audio you capture are saved only to the app's own private storage on your device.
- This media is not added to your system Photos library, and is not uploaded to any cloud service or to us.
- Your recordings are protected by the passcode you set within the app.
- If you delete the app, its stored recordings are removed by iOS along with it. We keep no copy.
Passcodes and settings
Your passcodes (including the optional decoy passcode) and your preferences — such as chosen capture settings, app icon, and decoy web page — are stored locally on your device using the operating system's standard app storage. They never leave your device and are not accessible to us.
Camera and microphone access
The app requests access to your camera and microphone solely so it can record when you choose to. These permissions are used only for capture that you initiate. You can review or revoke them at any time in the iOS Settings app under Privacy & Security.
Web pages shown in the app
Some features display a web page — for example, the "Web Browsing" capture mode and the decoy passcode screen. When a web page loads, your device connects directly to that website, and that site is governed by its own privacy policy. We do not control or receive any data from those sites. You choose which pages are shown.
Network use
The core functionality of Veil Cam works entirely offline. The app does not make network requests to us. The only time your device contacts the internet is when you deliberately load a web page within the features described above.
Children's privacy
Veil Cam is not directed to children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Because the app collects no data, changes will typically only clarify existing behavior.
