Five ways to stay unseen

Each mode disguises the recording screen so a glance over your shoulder reveals nothing. Video, photos, and audio — all captured while the app pretends to be something else.

Web Browsing

Records video while a normal-looking web page fills the screen. Pause, resume, and exit live quietly in the toolbar menu.

Black Screen

The display goes fully dark with brightness at zero. Tap to take a photo, swipe to stop — it just looks like a phone that's asleep.

Lock Screen

Disguises recording as the iOS lock screen, complete with wallpaper and clock. Tap to wake, swipe right to stop.

Calculator

A fully working calculator sits over the live camera. One button quietly snaps a photo; another stops and exits.

Voice Memo

Record microphone audio while the screen shows a lock screen. Saved straight to your private vault as an audio file.

Private Library

Your footage never leaves your phone

Veil Cam has no servers, no sign-in, and no analytics. Recordings are written to the app's own private storage — not your camera roll, not the cloud. There's nothing to leak because nothing is ever sent.

Fully offline

No network requests, no account, no tracking. The app works entirely on-device, airplane mode and all.

PIN-locked

A passcode guards the whole app. Five wrong tries triggers a timed lockout before anyone can get in.

Decoy passcode

Set a second PIN that opens an innocent web page instead of your vault — perfect if you're ever asked to unlock.

Disguised app icon

Swap the home-screen icon to a calculator, weather, notes, or clock so the app never reads as a camera.

Good to know

Where are my recordings stored?
Inside the app's own private storage on your device — video, photos, and audio in the built-in library. They don't appear in your Photos app and are never uploaded anywhere.
Does Veil Cam need an internet connection or account?
No. There's no sign-up and no cloud. The app runs entirely offline and makes no network requests, so your footage can't be intercepted or synced.
What is the decoy passcode?
A second PIN you can set. Entering it opens an ordinary web page instead of your vault — so if you're ever handed over to unlock, there's nothing sensitive to see. You choose which page it shows.
Can I make the app not look like a camera?
Yes. You can change the home-screen icon and name to a calculator, weather, notes, or clock app, and each capture mode disguises the screen while recording.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone and iPad running iOS 17 or later. Camera and microphone capture require a physical device.
Is recording legal?
Recording laws vary by country and state — some require the consent of everyone involved. You're responsible for using Veil Cam lawfully and respectfully. It's a tool for protecting your own privacy, not for violating anyone else's.
